Your character enters Kraz. There see revivification trophy. How do they
react?
Alaina emerged from the pool and wrapped herself in the pale
yellow bath sheet she had brought with her. She slipped into a pair of silver flip-flops
and padded along the path to her home.
She lived in the woods, in a former hunting cabin. There was
no hunting allowed in this area anymore; the land had long since been named an
animal sanctuary. As a result, there were very few people around for much of
the year. Alaina preferred solitude, so this was fine with her.
She entered the cabin and put the kettle to boil on the wood
stove, then set about drying herself and dressing in her black corduroy
leggings and a softly-worn red plaid button-up shirt layered over an equally
soft waffle-knit long-sleeved top. She sat in her wooden rocking chair by the
stove to comb out her knee-length hair, which she always wore up except when
communing with Sirona in the spring. She would let it air-dry now and then
braid it and pin it out of the way before moving on with chores.
She poured the boiling water from the kettle over the leaves
waiting in the teapot, then sat in her rocking chair, folded her hands across
her chest, and closed her eyes.
Rocking gently, she murmured the incantation her mother had
taught her. “Kraz, chariot, draw me in.”
When she opened her eyes moments later, she was no longer in
her cabin.
Alaina sat in her rocking chair in the centre of a vast white
room that glowed pale yellow about the edges.
She stood up and took a step forwards.
“Hello?” she called. She couldn’t remember what her mother
had told her to do when she arrived in Kraz. “I’m… Shirley Martlett told me how
to get here.”
A small door slid open in the wall directly in front of her,
and she squinted at the item displayed in the alcove behind the door. She took
another step forwards.
The item was a statue consisting of three columns, each about
18 inches tall and three inches diameter, with an odd geometric design
consisting of triangles and circles bound within each other carved into the
centre column.
She reached out to touch it, but stopped when she read the
small plaque at its base. Revivification
Trophy.
Nope.
Alaina backed up until her knees touched the edge of her
seat, and then she sat down in the rocking chair. She folded her hands and
closed her eyes, and resumed the gentle rocking from before. “Kraz, chariot,
return me home,” she muttered softly.
When she opened her eyes, her tea was ready.
